Mission
Rev Prince Chambers is a well known Evangelist and Convention Speaker, who has travelled extensively to many countries including USA, Canada, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, India, Trinidad, St Vincent, Barbados, Antigua, Barbuda, England, Scotland and Wales. He and a team of 20 are embarking on a mission trip to South Africa on 21st October -2nd November 2009.
What a fantastic opportunity for our local churches to join together to support this mission. We as a group look forward to this challenge and very much appreciate your valued support. We are all members sharing the same aims and objectives to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
We hope that our presence will affect change and make a difference to the lives of so many.
-
We have the privilege that we can come together to worship in the House of the Lord without being persecuted.
-
We have the privilege of being able to go to work to earn our living.
-
We have the privilege of being able to live in comfort with a roof over our heads.
-
We have the privilege of three meals a day.
This is just an example of the difference in lifestyle from one continent to another. This mission should be an eye-opener for the entire group.
The group will be travelling to Durban and will help support their community charity ‘The Ashram’. (A Hindu Children’s Home) The main purpose will be to give support to local churches and the children’s home; help to encourage the community with our ministry of praise and worship and practical support, such as painting etc. There will also be opportunities to minister in people’s homes, attend conferences and learn together through daily devotion and teaching.
In addition, fresh meals will be prepared daily at the Ashram for the needy, especially for the children of the area that are returning from school. For many of these children, the Ashram serves as their only source of food for the day. On average 1000 mouths are fed daily at the Ashram. Fresh food is also sent to three neighboring (NGO’s) Non Governmental Organization with HIV / Aids patients. Only vegetarian food is prepared and consumed at the Ashram
Education, School and Feeding
The Ashram is now dedicating more time, resources and effort to the fundamental of human rights, education. Every effort is being made to school as many unfortunate children as possible. Parents of less fortunate backgrounds are encouraged to enroll their children with incentives such equipment for school; uniforms, stationary, other apparel and in some special cases, payment of school fees.
To receive these incentives school registration is an absolute necessity. At the beginning of the school year stationery to the value of R5000 was purchased and distributed to the children. An integral part of the education received by the pupils includes activities such as talks on human values and encouraging students to sing to audiences. These give students the opportunity to developing their self-esteem, confidence and determination.
May the Lord richly bless these families now and forever; may their spirits be uplifted.
Sunday Feeding
Sundays are the busiest days in the Ashram. Attendance averages 400, mostly children (some in orphanages). The group will also have the privilege of helping with the ‘Feeding’ that takes place on a Sunday. The ‘Feeding’ comprises of a full breakfast and a sumptuous lunch. Sunday is a special treat day, especially for the kids. Fresh fruit, sweets, chocolates, ice cream and chips are the spoils of the day.
YOUR SELFLESS SUPPORT WILL BE HUMBLY APPRECIATED!!
